The RKH team's predictions for 2025
What does 2025 have in store for the digital marketing industry? From in-game marketing to follower…
Working in a digital marketing agency is exciting and fast-paced, and as a fully remote team, we embrace the flexibility and freedom that comes with it. Remote work offers plenty of benefits—such as a better work-life balance and the ability to work from wherever we feel most comfortable—but it’s important to recognise that it can still bring its own challenges, like staying connected or managing stress.
With it being World Mental Health Day, it's the perfect time to remind ourselves of the importance of looking after each other. So, how can we continue to support one another in our remote working environment?
The first step to creating a supportive work environment is encouraging open conversations. It’s really important that we feel comfortable sharing what’s on our minds without worrying about being judged. At RKH, we have Mental Health Advocates throughout the agency, who are always available for a chat. Having someone to talk to when you need it is a key way we’re helping to prevent stress and burnout in the workplace.
Remote work can sometimes leave us feeling a little disconnected, so we’ve made it a priority to keep communication flowing across the team. Whether it’s a team 'Lunch and Learn' or our partnership with a local coffee shop to offer co-working spaces, we’re making sure there are plenty of ways to stay in touch. We also hold a monthly company-wide meeting to catch up with everyone. These aren’t just about work—they’re chances to check in, share ideas, and stay connected with each other.
Let’s face it—working remotely requires trust, and we’re lucky that trust is something RKH values deeply. Life is busy, and we know work needs to fit around everything else. Whether that means stepping away for school pick-ups, squeezing in a gym session, or finishing early to join social events, we understand that flexibility is key. Creating a balance between work and life is essential for looking after our mental health, and we want to make sure everyone feels empowered to make it work for them.
Taking breaks during the day is one of the easiest ways to boost your mood and productivity. Whether it’s a quick five-minute stretch or a proper lunch break, stepping away from your screen helps clear your mind and reduces stress. Many of us at the agency are fans of the Pomodoro Technique, which breaks your work into 25-minute sessions with short breaks in between. It’s simple, but it works! Remember, breaks aren’t just nice—they’re necessary.
We’ve already talked about a few perks of working remotely, but one of the biggest ones is the ability to work from wherever you feel most comfortable. Whether it’s your kitchen table, a cosy spot at a coffee shop, or even a friend or family member’s house, remote work lets you stay connected with loved ones without compromising on deadlines. You can also meet up with colleagues for a change of scenery—working together in person is still possible and can be a lot of fun.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to how we take care of one another. Whether it’s giving someone a shout-out for a job well done, checking in during a busy day, or just offering a listening ear when needed, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. If you ever feel like something’s off with a colleague, don’t hesitate to reach out. A small gesture can go a long way.
In the hustle and bustle of agency life, it’s easy to forget how much support we have around us. By looking out for each other, staying connected, and building a culture of trust, we can ensure that everyone feels valued and supported—no matter where or how we’re working. Mental health matters, and together, we can create a workplace where everyone thrives, not just on World Mental Health Day, but every day.
