Ozone was founded over 25 years ago in New Zealand and has been growing organically ever since, moving into premises in London over a decade ago. A specialty coffee roaster priding themselves on cultivating long-term, direct relationships with farming communities at origin, Ozone is at the forefront of ensuring coffee is valued, grown and produced sustainability. As well as their standing in the growing and roasting industry, their coffee shops around London are very highly rated.

The Challenge

RKH were approached to create relevant brand positioning for the business as a whole, connect the dots and provide a clearer picture of the entire offering as opposed to being seen as an entity which provided disparate services.

We were asked to assist with the creative re-branding exercise as well as create two Shopify instances; one for NZ and one UK/global version. Ozone wanted to ensure the website and creative reflected their modern, agile and sustainable business model whilst delivering a simplified purchasing experience for the user.

The Purpose

Through multiple conversations with end users, stakeholders, roasters, baristas and coffee wholesalers, we built personas for each user group. We ensured we had content on the site that was relevant, shared the story and enticed the user to buy coffee and eventually, subscriptions. This underpinned the work we did with the Ozone in-house creative director, which was then realised as Shopify stores and plugins to make the site rich in features and functionality.

The Outcome

We created two lightweight, content-managed Shopify websites, which use the latest front end technology and integrate seamlessly with a back end system which manages the wholesale, roasting lists and printing requirements.
